"The Last Chance to Establish People-First Politics"
"I Will Humbly and Wholeheartedly Follow the Will of the People"
Regarding the defeat of People Power Party candidate Kim Moonsoo in the June 3 presidential election and the election of President Lee Jaemyung, former People Power Party leader Han Donghun stated, "I believe the people have issued a firm order for the exit of 'illegal martial law' and the 'old politics that defended the forces behind illegal martial law.'"
On June 4, Han wrote on his Facebook account, "On issues of people's livelihoods and national security, we should cooperate with the new administration where possible and constructively propose better alternatives," expressing these views.

However, Han added, "I will resolutely block any destruction of the judicial system for the sake of a single person in power, even if it means standing my ground to the end," and encouraged supporters by saying, "Do not be too discouraged. Do not give up."
He emphasized that this is the last opportunity to break down the tiresome old politics that only serve vested interests and to establish politics that put the people first. He added, "I will humbly and wholeheartedly follow the will of the people."
Han competed against Kim in the People Power Party presidential primary, but after his defeat, he did not join the party's election committee and instead supported the campaign in its final stages. His message of 'following the will of the people' is interpreted as an intention to play a role within the party after this presidential election.
Meanwhile, according to the National Election Commission, in the 21st presidential election, President Lee Jaemyung was elected with a final vote share of 49.42%, setting a new record for the highest number of votes in history. People Power Party candidate Kim Moonsoo received 41.15%, while Reform New Party candidate Lee Junseok received 8.34%.
