'Including Early Voting' 1 p.m. Turnout at 62.1%... Jeonnam Highest at 74.1%

27,565,241 Voters Have Cast Their Ballots

As of 1:00 p.m. on June 3, the voter turnout for the 21st presidential election was provisionally tallied at 62.1%. This figure includes both the main voting day and all forms of early voting.

According to the website of the National Election Commission, as of 1:00 p.m. on this day, out of a total of 44,391,871 eligible voters, 27,565,241 had cast their ballots. Of these, 11,874,500 voters participated on the main voting day, while 15,690,741 voters participated through early voting, overseas voting, shipboard voting, or absentee voting.

The turnout for early voting, overseas voting, shipboard voting, and absentee voting has been included in the turnout figures released from 1:00 p.m. onwards.

At the same time, the turnout is 0.8 percentage points higher than the 61.3% turnout recorded during the 20th presidential election in 2022, and 6.6 percentage points higher than the 55.5% turnout in the 19th presidential election in 2017.

By region, combining both the main and early voting, Jeonnam recorded the highest turnout at 74.1%, while Busan had the lowest at 58.1%.

During the early voting held on May 29 and 30, Daegu had the lowest early voting turnout among metropolitan local governments at 25.63%. However, on the main voting day, Daegu is showing a relatively high turnout.

Other regional turnout rates are as follows: Seoul 61.2%, Incheon 60.1%, Daejeon 62.1%, Gwangju 71.6%, Gyeonggi-do 61.6%, Sejong 67.0%, Ulsan 60.5%, Gyeongbuk 61.8%, Gyeongnam 60.5%, Gangwon 63.3%, and Jeju 60.3%.

The voter turnout published on the National Election Commission's website at the top of each hour is based on turnout data collected nationwide 10 minutes prior to the announcement.
