Gwangju City announced on June 3 that it will recruit 300 applicants for the third round of the 'Gwangju Youth Job-Seeking Activity Allowance Support Project' until June 10.

The 'Gwangju Youth Job-Seeking Activity Allowance Support Project' is a flagship youth policy of Gwangju City designed to help unemployed young people enter society and achieve independence by providing financial support for job-seeking activities and customized programs. Since 2018, the city has provided practical job-seeking assistance to more than 7,600 young people. This year, 1,234 individuals have participated in the first and second rounds of the project.

Eligible applicants are unemployed young people aged 19 to 39 who are registered residents of Gwangju and whose household income is within 150% of the median income, and who are willing to seek employment. However, current students, those on leave of absence, and those expecting to graduate are excluded from eligibility.

Selected participants will receive a job-seeking allowance of 500,000 won per month for up to six months starting in July, for a maximum total of 3 million won. In addition, various support programs will be provided, including career planning, job search planning, and expanded field experience opportunities, such as job and start-up preparation, competency enhancement, and company exploration programs.

Applications must be submitted online through the Gwangju Youth Integrated Platform. The city will comprehensively evaluate applicants based on household income, period of unemployment, and job-seeking plans, and will select the final participants during June.

The selection results will be announced via the My Page section of the Gwangju Youth Integrated Platform or by individual text message. Final participants will receive the allowance after completing follow-up procedures, including online pre-education and issuance of a Clean Card.

Kwon Yunsuk, Director of the Youth Policy Division, stated, "The youth job-seeking activity allowance is an effective project that goes beyond simple financial support to provide personalized job-seeking assistance for each individual," and added, "We hope that more young people will actively participate and that this will provide substantial help in their employment efforts."
