Online Applications Accepted from June 16 to 25
Yongsan-gu, Seoul will be accepting applications for the "2025 Summer Vacation Children's English Camp" from June 16 to 25. The English camp, jointly operated with Sookmyung Women's University TESOL, records high competition rates every year and has established itself as Yongsan-gu's representative English immersion program.
The camp will run for two weeks, from July 28 to August 8. It is designed as a future-oriented learning program that fosters creativity and problem-solving skills through a convergence curriculum combining coding and science. The number of participants to be recruited is 60 for grades 1-2 (including 12 students from low-income families) and 80 for grades 3-6 (including 16 students from low-income families). Notably, the quota for grades 1-2 has been expanded to three times that of last year.
Eligible applicants are elementary school students who are registered residents of Yongsan-gu as of June 16. Foreign nationals, overseas Koreans, and students with foreign citizenship are not eligible to apply. The participation fee is 840,000 KRW, but Yongsan-gu will subsidize half, allowing students to participate for 420,000 KRW. Families with multiple children will receive an additional 100,000 KRW support within the budget, and students from low-income families may participate free of charge.
Applications will be accepted online from 10:00 a.m. on June 16 to 4:00 p.m. on June 25 through the Yongsan-gu Education Portal (yedu.yongsan.go.kr). Participants will be selected by random lottery.
