Candidates to Move to Situation Rooms Once Winner Becomes Clear
The main voting for the 21st presidential election began simultaneously across the country at 6 a.m. on June 3. The presidential candidates are expected to monitor the progress of the election from their homes.

Lee Jaemyung, the candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, plans to stay at his home in Gyeyang District, Incheon while voting takes place. During his final campaign rally held the previous night at Yeouido Square in Seoul, Lee called for support, saying, "End the rebellion with your votes."
After voting ends at 8 p.m., Lee is expected to move to the ballot counting situation room at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeouido once the outline of the winner becomes clear.
Kim Moonsoo, the candidate of the People Power Party, will also monitor the voting and counting process from his home in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak District, Seoul. After a demanding campaign schedule that started in Jeju and continued through Busan, Daegu, and Daejeon before arriving in Seoul, he held his final rally in front of Seoul City Hall Square.
Kim is also expected to move to the ballot counting situation room set up at the National Assembly Library once the outline of the winner emerges.
Lee Junseok, the candidate of the Reform New Party, plans to encourage voting in Busan in the morning and then head to his constituency in Dongtan. During his final campaign rally held the previous day at Sanghwa Hill in Suseong Lake, Daegu, Lee called for the removal of both "rebellious forces and forces of chaos."
The unification of candidates between Kim Moonsoo and Lee Junseok, which was considered the biggest variable in this presidential election, ultimately did not materialize. Until the last moment, both candidates emphasized the "wasted vote theory" and appealed for voters to support them.
Lee Junseok is expected to visit the party's main situation room at the National Assembly Members' Office Building before voting ends at 8 p.m.
Kwon Youngguk, the candidate of the Democratic Labor Party, will attend the ballot counting event held at the party's main situation room starting at 7 p.m.
All four candidates completed early voting on May 29.
The National Election Commission expects that once voting ends at 8 p.m. and ballot counting begins, the outline of the winner will become clear around midnight. The exit poll results from the three major terrestrial broadcasters are expected to be released around 8:10 p.m., immediately after voting ends.
