Special Committee on Budget and Accounts Formed for 22-Day Session
First Report on Settlement of Contributions to Public Institutions
The Gumi City Council in North Gyeongsang Province, chaired by Park Gyosang, opened the 1st plenary session of the 288th regular meeting in the main assembly hall on June 2, commencing a 22-day session that will run until June 23.
Park Gyosang, chairman of the Gumi City Council, announced the opening of the 1st plenary session of the 288th regular meeting on the 2nd.
During this regular session, the council plans to review a total of 15 agenda items, including the approval of the 2024 fiscal year revenue and expenditure settlement, reports on the settlement of contributions to public institutions, the 2025 administrative audit, as well as various ordinance and agreement proposals.
In particular, for the first time, detailed settlement reports on contributions and consignment project expenses transferred to public institutions will be presented to the standing committees, which is expected to further enhance transparency and accountability.
At the plenary session on this day, the council passed the resolution to form a Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, appointing Lee Sangho as chairperson, Kim Jeongdo as secretary, and a total of 13 members to the committee.
The main schedule includes: ▲ deliberation on ordinances by each standing committee on June 4; ▲ preliminary review of the 2024 fiscal year revenue and expenditure settlement and the settlement of contributions to public institutions on June 5 and 9; ▲ and the main review by the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts on June 10 and 11.
From June 12 to June 20, over a period of nine days, the council will conduct the 2025 administrative audit of the executive branch, thoroughly examining the implementation of major policies and the overall execution of the budget.
On the final day of the session, June 23, the 2nd plenary session will be held to finalize the agenda items reviewed by each standing committee and the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, concluding the regular meeting.
Chairman Park Gyosang stated, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to the public officials and volunteers who worked hard for the successful hosting of the '2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships,' which concluded successfully on May 31." He added, "During this regular session, I hope everyone will do their utmost to enhance the transparency and efficiency of municipal administration through thorough oversight and checks as representatives of the citizens."
He continued, "As we mark Patriots and Veterans Month in June, let us deeply honor the noble spirit of those who sacrificed for the country and take the lead in building a just and compassionate community."
