Hyejin Choi Jumps to 28th in World Rankings After Tying for 4th at US Women's Open

Back-to-Back Top 10 Finishes in Two Major Tournaments This Year
Korda, Thitikul, and Lydia Ko Hold Top Three Spots
Hae Ran Ryu at 5th, Stark at 6th, and Hyo Joo Kim at 9th

According to the women's golf weekly world rankings announced on June 2 (local time), she earned 2.55 points and jumped 17 spots from 45th place last week. She secured ranking points by finishing tied for 4th place (4-under-par 284) at the 80th US Women's Open (total prize money $12 million), which concluded the previous day at Erin Hills Golf Course (par 72, 6,780 yards) in Erin, Wisconsin, USA. This is the highest ranking among Korean players. Following her tie for 9th at the first major of the season, the Chevron Championship last month, she has now recorded back-to-back top-10 finishes in majors.


Nelly Korda (USA), Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand), Lydia Ko (New Zealand), Ruoning Yin (China), and Hae Ran Ryu maintained their positions in the top 5. US Women's Open champion Maja Stark made a remarkable leap of 27 spots to reach 6th place. Among Korean players, Hyo Joo Kim is ranked 9th, Jin Young Ko is 12th, Hee Young Yang is 22nd, Yuna Yoon is 25th, Ye Won Lee is 26th, and A Lim Kim is 27th. Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women's Open champion Yoon Ji Jung climbed 29 spots to 92nd place.
