Lee Jae-yong Says "Anyone Outstanding"... Samsung Recruits Executive from Top Foundry TSMC

Targeting the U.S. Foundry Market
Led North American Business at TSMC for 21 Years
Expanding U.S. Foundry Customer Base and Enhancing Order Acquisition Capabilities Expected

It has been confirmed that Samsung Electronics has recruited an executive from TSMC, the global leader in the foundry industry, to its Foundry Business Division.

Lee Jae-yong Says "Anyone Outstanding"... Samsung Recruits Executive from Top Foundry TSMC Margaret Han, new Vice President of Samsung Electronics America.

According to industry sources on June 2, Samsung Electronics America (DSA) appointed Margaret Han, former Vice President of Global Purchasing and Procurement at NXP Semiconductors, as an executive vice president overseeing the foundry business earlier this year.

Han served at TSMC for 21 years from 2000 to 2021, leading North American business and customer relations. She later held the position of Vice President of Global Procurement at leading semiconductor companies such as Intel Foundry and NXP Semiconductors.

Industry experts believe that through this appointment, Samsung Electronics aims to expand its foundry customer base in the United States and strengthen its global order acquisition capabilities. Han played a key role in establishing the North American marketing and business development departments at TSMC.

Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong recently emphasized during executive training that “regardless of nationality or gender, we must recruit talent who are even more outstanding than the current management, and if necessary, personnel appointments should be made as needed.”
