Korea Railroad Corporation Gwangju Headquarters announced on June 2 that it has hired 56 new employees across various fields, including station operations, driving, vehicles, facilities, and electrical work, ahead of the opening of the Mokpo-Boseong Line in the second half of this year. A new employee appointment ceremony was held.

The ceremony, held on May 30 at the Mudeungsan Hall of the KORAIL Gwangju Headquarters, included the presentation of appointment letters and welcome gifts to the new employees. The event also featured a welcoming address from the head of the headquarters, as well as training sessions on sound labor-management relations and integrity.

The newly hired employees are scheduled to be assigned to major stations and business offices within the jurisdiction of the Gwangju Headquarters, in line with the opening of the Mokpo-Boseong Line, a long-standing wish of residents in the southwestern region of Jeollanam-do. This is expected to bring a range of positive effects, including improved regional transportation convenience, revitalization of tourism, and the creation of youth jobs.

In his welcoming address, Kim Youngjin, head of the Gwangju Headquarters, stated, "We will always keep safety, the most important value of the railroad, in mind and work together to move toward the same goal."
