During the assembly, a ceremony was held to present military merit medals from the Korean War. In addition, in recognition of Patriots and Veterans Month, commendations were awarded to exemplary veterans and contributors to the 24th Damyang Bamboo Festival, as well as prizes to the winners of the 44th National Bamboo Design Craft Competition.
Mayor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "As this is the time when the full-scale heat and rainy season begin, please focus on conducting preliminary inspections and preventive activities at various construction sites and disaster-prone areas." He also urged, "Please continue to strengthen cooperation systems with relevant agencies and actively promote disaster response guidelines."
Regarding the recovery of the local economy, Mayor Jeong requested, "Although the budget is not ample, I ask public officials to actively participate in consumption activities to support local small businesses." He then suggested, "Let us revitalize the local economy by using a variety of local businesses evenly, so that no particular company is favored."
With regard to the upcoming 'Dialogue with Residents Visiting Villages,' which will begin on June 9, Mayor Jeong called for thorough preparations so that even the smallest opinions of residents can be heard and addressed.
Mayor Jeong emphasized, "We must always maintain a positive attitude to ensure there is no negligence in responding to and handling civil complaints," and added, "Let us build an organizational culture based on a sense of community and flexible cooperation, recognizing that these are 'our tasks,' not just yours or mine."
Mayor Jeong also pledged to "grant autonomy and responsibility to public officials and create a culture where people are evaluated based on their abilities and achievements," promising continued passion and action for county administration.
Meanwhile, following a report on the results of an overseas industrial site visit, a 'Lucky Quiz' event was also held during the assembly, which received enthusiastic participation from attendees.
