Exports in May Increase by 18% Year-on-Year
Renault Korea announced on June 2 that it recorded sales of 9,860 units in May 2025, a 28% increase compared to the same month last year. The strong performance of the new Grand Koleos in both the domestic and export markets drove the overall results.
Renault Korea’s domestic sales reached 4,202 units, representing a 195% increase year-on-year. The mid-size SUV Grand Koleos accounted for 3,296 units, leading the overall performance. Of the Grand Koleos units sold in May, the 'Hybrid E-Tech' model made up more than 87%, with 2,898 units sold.
The coupe-style SUV Arkana recorded 461 units sold last month. The steady-selling SUV QM6 contributed 390 units, the mid-size sedan SM6 added 17 units, and the commercial vehicle Master Van accounted for 38 units, all supporting domestic sales.
In May, exports totaled 5,658 units, including 4,198 units of the Arkana and 1,460 units of the Grand Koleos. This represents an 18.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
During May, the Grand Koleos was shipped as an initial export volume to 13 countries across Central and South America and the Middle East, including Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
A Renault Korea official stated, "The Grand Koleos is one of the core models in Renault’s 'International Game Plan' strategy for global markets outside Europe. Starting with Central and South America and the Middle East, we plan to further expand our export markets to Africa in the future."
