[Photo] Gwangju City Council Chairperson Shin Sujeong Urges Voter Participation

The Gwangju City Council convened the first regular session of its 332nd extraordinary meeting at 10:00 a.m. on June 2 in the main assembly hall, commencing a 15-day session that will run until June 16. A total of 60 agenda items have been submitted for this regular session, including 26 ordinance proposals, 1 proposal for recommendation, 27 reporting items, and 6 approvals for the 2024 fiscal year settlements of the city and the Office of Education. In her opening address, Chairperson Shin Sujeong stated, "The June 3 presidential election is not merely about judging the current administration, but is an urgent and fundamental moment when the people will answer, through their votes, the questions of 'Who is the true owner of this country?' and 'Who should be the main agent of politics?'" She continued, "Voting is both the sacred right and duty of the sovereign people.
