A variety of handmade items such as bags and wrapping cloths crafted from Hansan Mosi in Seocheon, Chungnam, are on display at the Daum Art Hall of the Chungnam Provincial Council, showcasing the beauty of Hansan Mosi.
The Chungnam Provincial Council announced that from June 2 to June 30, an exhibition of traditional crafts by the Hansan Mosi Craft Research Association, composed of artisans from the Seocheon region, will be held at the Daum Art Hall on the first floor of the council building.
Under the theme "Woven with Mosi. Connected with Ssamsol," this exhibition features artists Hwang Kyunga, Moon Gilyoung, Hong Myeonghee, and Lee Honggu from the Hansan Mosi Research Association, who will present traditional Hansan Mosi craftworks that reflect their own individuality and philosophy.
The Hansan Mosi Craft Research Association was formed in 2022 and currently has 10 members. Its members have learned traditional Mosi sewing and craft techniques from Master Ju Gyeongja, the first recognized master of Ssamsol in Korea, and continue to participate in competitions and engage in various creative activities based on these traditional methods.
A representative of the Chungnam Provincial Council stated, "We will continue to provide exhibition opportunities for local artists and operate Daum Art Hall as an open cultural space so that residents can enjoy culture and the arts in their daily lives."
