The program targets elderly residents of Seongdong-gu who are 70 years of age or older and are either basic livelihood security recipients or belong to the lower-income group, and who live alone. The district is actively recruiting and identifying seniors in need of change and vitality in their daily lives by working in cooperation with local welfare facilities such as senior welfare centers.

This year, the project is being carried out under the theme 'Longed-for Hometown, Grateful to Myself.' There are two areas of support: 'Longed-for Hometown,' which helps seniors visit their hometowns or places filled with precious memories, and 'Grateful to Myself,' which fulfills personalized wishes that seniors have always wanted to achieve in their lifetime.

Applications are open until the 20th of this month. Applicants must submit a detailed description of their wish and the story behind it to the Seongdong Senior Welfare Center. Final recipients will be selected by the Wish Selection Review Committee, and the main phase of the wish fulfillment project will begin in July.

If direct application is difficult, seniors can apply through the nearest senior welfare center or community service center in Seongdong-gu. Application forms can be downloaded from the website of the Seongdong Senior Welfare Center.

Now in its third year, the 'Hyo Love Wish Fulfillment' project has continued to increase satisfaction among seniors and has received a great response each year. In 2023, the project fulfilled the wishes of about 100 seniors under the theme 'Travel, Dinner, Gift,' and last year, about 50 wishes were granted under the theme 'Let's Go, Let's Meet, Let's Achieve.'

Jung Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "By continuously promoting the 'Hyo Love Wish Fulfillment' project, we are increasing satisfaction among seniors and bringing about positive changes in their lives. We will continue to make Seongdong a senior-friendly district where all elderly people are respected, not left behind, and can enjoy a healthy and happy daily life."
