Gyeonggi Province to Provide Safety Packages Including Door Sensors for Single-Women Households

Gyeonggi Province will be recruiting women-led households to participate in this year's Women's Safety Package Support Project from June 9 to June 27.

This project, which has been implemented since 2023, provides safety items such as smart home cameras, door sensors, and portable emergency bells to single-women households and similar groups.

In the first year of implementation, only single-women households were eligible. Last year, the scope was expanded to include single-parent families with women and women who are crime victims. This year, the project will be open to all households consisting only of women.

Last year, Gyeonggi Province provided safety packages to 6,159 households. This year, the project will support 2,884 households.

Lee Jihyun, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Women's Vision Center, stated, "The Women's Safety Package is not simply about providing items, but is a policy aimed at alleviating the daily anxieties faced by women." She added, "For women in urgent need of protection, we have placed packages at local police stations so that they can be distributed quickly."
