"Strengthening On-Site Response for Small Businesses and Traditional Markets"
On June 2, the Small Enterprise and Market Service announced that it had completed an organizational restructuring on May 21 to strengthen its field response system for small businesses and traditional markets, centered around regional headquarters. The agency also stated that personnel appointments related to these changes will take effect as of this date.
With this reorganization, the structure of the Small Enterprise and Market Service has changed from 7 headquarters, 1 research institute, 23 departments, and 8 regional headquarters to 7 headquarters, 1 research institute, 23 departments, and 12 regional headquarters.

First, by dividing the regional headquarters' jurisdictions, the agency established a regionally-focused operational system tailored to the characteristics of each metropolitan government, creating four new regional headquarters. The former Incheon-Gyeonggi Northern Regional Headquarters was split into Incheon and Gyeonggi Northern; the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters was divided into Busan-Ulsan and Gyeongnam; the Gwangju-Honam Regional Headquarters into Gwangju-Jeonnam-Jeju and Jeonbuk; and the Daejeon-Chungcheong Regional Headquarters into Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam and Chungbuk.
Accordingly, the Uijeongbu Center has been elevated to the Gyeonggi Northern Regional Headquarters, the Changwon Center to the Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, the Jeonju Center to the Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters, and the Cheongju Center to the Chungbuk Regional Headquarters, thereby establishing a hub-centered operational system.
