Lee Jae Myung: "I'm Not a Progressive Leftist... I Want to Create a Sensible World"

Presidential Office to Move After Blue House Renovation
"I Am Fully Exposed to the Risk of Assassination"
"Even a Neighborhood Thug Doesn't Mess with Family"

Lee Jae Myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, stated on the 2nd, "I want to create a world that is sensible and predictable," adding, "Even just that would be enough to make the world much better than it is now."

On this day, appearing on the YouTube channel 'Kim Eo Jun's News Factory,' Lee was asked, "Why do you want to become president?" He replied, "People call me a progressive leftist, but I don't think I am. We need a fair society where no one can benefit from breaking the rules and no one suffers a loss for following them. The rest depends on each individual's abilities, but the basic framework must be fair."

Regarding the issue of relocating the presidential office, Lee explained, "For now, moving to Yongsan is the right thing to do," and added, "The Blue House should be renovated so that it can be used again."

When asked about the comment, "Now the only thing left is assassination," Lee responded, "I think so too," and added, "If someone wants to kill me, couldn't they do it somehow? I am exposed in so many ways."

Regarding the ongoing controversies involving his family, Lee criticized, "What I go through is my own choice, so I endure it. But my innocent children and wife are being insulted and made to suffer," and added, "Even a bad neighborhood thug doesn't mess with someone's family."

About former President Yoon Suk Yeol, Lee said, "When I think of him, I feel that it shouldn't have happened. It seems like he has created his own hell and is suffering in it," and added, "All he knows how to do is investigate, eliminate, and pressure others. If he can't do that, he drinks and rages."

Regarding the National Assembly's past approval of his arrest motion, Lee said, "The first time it was rejected, but if you look at the numbers, about 30 people voted for it. I have a rough idea of who they are," and added, "They tried to threaten me to step down using that, and when I held out, they passed it."

About the Supreme Court's decision to overturn and remand his violation of the Public Official Election Act with a guilty verdict, Lee said, "It was the most absurd and unexpected thing. To change the factual judgment, there should be something special, but there were 60,000 pages of evidence that the court didn't even review," but also stated, "However, it is not desirable to distrust the entire judiciary because of this."

Reflecting on his own life, Lee said, "Looking back, it feels like I have walked a solitary path along the edge of a cliff," and recalled, "If I slipped, I would have fallen. There were times I almost fell but managed to climb back up."
