Building the Financial Sector's First
'AI Development Support Platform'
to Enhance Coding Efficiency and IT Quality
Woori Bank announced that it has begun building the financial sector's first 'AI Development Support Platform.' This initiative is part of a strategy to respond quickly to rapidly changing market conditions and to further strengthen the bank's internal IT development capabilities.
The 'AI Development Support Platform' being introduced by Woori Bank offers a variety of features, including code auto-completion, error correction, automated code explanation and documentation, and code refactoring (structural reorganization). Through these features, the platform supports developers in efficiently handling repetitive and time-consuming coding tasks.
The AI predicts the code that developers are currently writing in real time and automatically completes it. It also modifies code to comply with internal development standards or detects errors in advance and notifies developers. In addition, the platform provides intuitive explanations for complex source code and includes a documentation automation feature that quickly generates various documents and comments needed during the development process.
In particular, the introduction of this platform is expected to be highly beneficial for both junior developers and external developers. With AI-based coding support, it will be easier to align with Woori Bank's standard code, which is expected to improve not only work efficiency but also IT quality and security levels.
A Woori Bank representative stated, "AX (AI Transformation) in the financial industry is now a matter of survival that cannot be postponed, and Woori Bank is swiftly promoting AX across the entire organization." The representative added, "Going forward, we plan to lead AI development in the financial sector and further enhance our digital financial competitiveness through internal system innovation utilizing AI technology."
