Lotte Construction Carries Out Volunteer Activities at National Cemetery with Employees and Their Families

Lotte Construction Volunteers for 13th Year at National Cemetery Ahead of Memorial Day

Lotte Construction announced on June 2 that, ahead of Memorial Day, it recently visited the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, to carry out volunteer activities for the maintenance of the gravesites.

This year, a total of 77 people, including Lotte Construction employees and their families, participated in the volunteer work. Operating under the name 'ShaLotte Volunteer Group,' they began by paying their respects at the Memorial Tower. At Section 24, with which the company has a sisterhood agreement, they carried out various maintenance activities such as moving stone flower vases, cleaning tombstones, removing weeds, and placing artificial flowers and Taegeukgi flags.

Lotte Construction's volunteer activities at the National Cemetery have continued for 13 years as of this year. So far, a total of 1,215 employees and family members have participated in 19 separate occasions. This year, new initiatives included writing support cards for the families of national patriots and packing 100 sets of food supplies. After completing their activities, the volunteer group also toured the exhibition hall to view the relics and photographs of the patriots who sacrificed their lives for the country.

A representative from Lotte Construction said, "It was a meaningful time to reflect on the spirit of sacrifice of those who dedicated themselves to the nation and to feel gratitude," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in establishing ourselves as a company that fulfills its social responsibilities through various social contribution activities."

This volunteer activity was made possible through Lotte Construction's 'ShaLotte Volunteer Fund.' The fund operates as a '1:3 matching grant' system, where the company contributes three times the amount donated monthly by employees.
