Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do announced on June 2 that it conducted on-site inspections of major workplaces and disaster-prone areas to proactively respond to natural disasters such as heavy rainfall and typhoons between May 26 and 30, aiming to ensure the safety of residents during the summer season.
This inspection was a proactive measure designed to identify potential disaster risks in advance and to check the safety of various facilities before the full onset of the rainy season, with the goal of protecting the lives and property of county residents.
During the inspection period, Hampyeong County Governor Lee Sangik visited the sites in person to closely examine the installation and maintenance status of disaster prevention facilities. He urged relevant departments to focus on field-oriented proactive responses and instructed them to establish thorough preemptive preparedness and safety management measures.
In addition, the inspection focused on the management of construction progress and safety measures at major ongoing sites, including the Shingwang Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District, the Sonbul Seokchang District Disaster Risk Maintenance Project, the Livestock Specialization Investment Leading District Development Project, the Saenal District Water Facility Renovation Project, and the Hampyeong Industrial Complex Connecting Road Expansion Project.
Governor Lee Sangik stated, "In a situation where unpredictable heavy rainfall and natural disasters are becoming more frequent due to climate change, preemptive inspections and preventive measures are more important than ever," adding, "We will mobilize all administrative resources to do our utmost for disaster prevention so that residents can have a safe summer."
