This project is a support program by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism aimed at ensuring the stable operation of workplace sports teams and improving athletes' performance. It targets local governments, public institutions, and private sports teams. In this selection, 306 teams from 63 organizations were chosen.

The city explained that all seven teams it applied for were fully funded in this round. The teams include athletics, rowing, kendo, bowling, taekwondo, judo, and ssireum, with a total of 58 athletes receiving support.

The budget secured this time will be used for domestic and international training camps, the purchase of training equipment, and participation expenses for various competitions for athletes in these sports.

The city's workplace sports teams have continued to achieve outstanding results in various competitions this year. On May 29, at the "2025 Gumi Asia Athletics Championships" held in Gumi, Woo Sanghyuk won the men's high jump, marking his second consecutive championship at the event. Woo Sanghyuk has won all five international competitions he has participated in this year. In the men's triple jump final at the same event, city team member Yoo Kyumin won the bronze medal.

At the "2025 Asia Indoor Rowing Championships" held last month in Pattaya, Thailand, Park Jisoo and Lee Sangmin won the gold medal in the 2,000m double sculls event. In the U-23 (under 23) category, Eo Jeongsu claimed two gold medals in the 2,000m and 500m single sculls events. The city's rowing team also won the gold medal in the 2,000m four-person team event and secured a silver medal in the lightweight four-person relay event.

Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "This selection was possible because our athletes have been training hard and achieving excellent results in various competitions. We will continue to actively support our athletes so they can take pride in their activities and bring honor to Yongin, while also working to discover outstanding sports talent."
