Agreement Signed by Four Ministries and 31 Local Governments
Promoting Sustainable Development Through Fostering Local Enterprises
Hamyang County announced on June 2 that Deputy County Governor Baek Samjong and other county officials attended the '2025 City-County-District Affiliated Industry Development Local Extinction Response Regional Innovation Project Launch Ceremony' held at the Mud Theme Park Convention Center in Boryeong, Chungnam Province.
This event was organized to address the issue of local extinction by fostering small and medium-sized local enterprises. The purpose was to expand and reorganize the existing city-county-district affiliated industry development project into an inter-ministerial collaboration system, with full-scale implementation set to begin in 2025.
Hamyang County Participates in the '2025 City-County-District Affiliated Industry Development Local Extinction Response Regional Innovation Project Launch Ceremony'.
The event was attended by four central government ministries?the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs?as well as 31 basic local governments nationwide, including Hamyang County, reaffirming their commitment to cooperation in response to local extinction.
Deputy County Governor Baek Samjong stated, "With this agreement as a starting point, the central and local governments will work together to build a sustainable regional innovation ecosystem," and added, "Hamyang County will also do its utmost to establish a foundation that supports the growth of local enterprises and to improve residential conditions."
Meanwhile, Hamyang County was selected last year for the '2024 Regional SME Innovation Contest Project for Local Extinction Response.' Building on this opportunity, the county is strengthening the connection between upstream and downstream industries?such as production, processing, and distribution?centered on its representative specialized resources, Sanyangsam and anti-aging agricultural food processing industries. Through these efforts, Hamyang County is creating local jobs, increasing residents' income, and establishing a sustainable regional economic base.
