One-Stop Health Services for Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Childcare
Jungnang District in Seoul announced on June 2 that it has completed the remodeling of the Mother and Child Health Center within its public health center and reopened the facility on May 29.
The Mother and Child Health Center, located on the first floor of the Jungnang District Public Health Center (179 Bonghwasan-ro), has enhanced user convenience and accessibility through spatial reorganization and interior improvements. Visitors can now receive health care services in a more comfortable environment.

The center operates as a "customized one-stop health support space" that provides integrated health services throughout the entire life cycle, from pregnancy preparation to childbirth and childcare. It offers a variety of programs, including pre-pregnancy health management, infertility counseling, medical expense support, periodic prenatal checkups for pregnant women, nutrition and exercise management, as well as health care for mothers and newborns.
In early pregnancy, the center provides initial checkups and folic acid supplements free of charge. In the mid-term, it offers free congenital anomaly screenings, gestational diabetes tests, and iron supplements. In late pregnancy, final-term checkups are also provided at no cost. Medical expense support has also been expanded for high-risk pregnant women and those aged 35 and older.
After childbirth, a child health nurse visits homes to provide health assessments for mothers and newborns, parenting consultations, and postpartum health management. For low-income families, practical parenting support such as diapers and infant formula is also provided.
Ryukyung Lee, Mayor of Jungnang District, stated, "The Mother and Child Health Center is a place that takes responsibility for the entire process of pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare," adding, "We will continue to strengthen health infrastructure and improve services to ensure that mothers and children can live safely and healthily in Jungnang."
