On June 1, Judge Yeom Hyesu of the Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant after conducting a pretrial detention hearing for Park, who is accused of violating the Public Official Election Act. Judge Yeom stated, "There are concerns about destruction of evidence and flight risk."

Park is accused of issuing a ballot using her husband's ID and casting a proxy vote at the Daechi 2-dong early voting station in Gangnam District on May 29, and then voting again about five hours later using her own ID.

Park, a contract public servant affiliated with Gangnam District Public Health Center, was appointed as an election official responsible for issuing ballots to voters. The police responded after an observer, suspicious that the same person had voted twice in one day, reported the incident. Park was immediately arrested. Suseo Police Station applied for an arrest warrant for Park on May 30.
