This event was recognized as a global festival where sports, culture, and citizens came together in harmony, thanks to facilities that supported athletic performance, flawless event management, a variety of cultural programs, and the enthusiastic participation of local citizens.
The city of Gumi provided stadiums and athlete villages that met international standards and responded swiftly to unexpected situations, allowing the event to proceed without a single accident. The athletes expressed high satisfaction with the facilities and operations, while the support from spectators greatly contributed to improved athletic performance.
Cultural events and the promotion of local specialties also stood out. 'Food Fair Star' and the 'Ramen Hall' served as important platforms to showcase Gumi's food culture to international visitors, and local agricultural products and direct sales stores for local food contributed to economic revitalization.
In particular, the Indong Market’s 'Sweet Romance Night Market' became a popular attraction, drawing a constant stream of athletes and visitors.
Nearly 10,000 student supporters and volunteers provided energetic cheering and attentive guidance throughout the stadiums. As the number of international visitors increased, citizens voluntarily participated as interpreters, further contributing to the success of the event.
During the event, Gumi introduced international delegations to the city's history, industry, and culture by showcasing sites such as the birthplace of President Park Chunghee, the Saemaul Undong Theme Park, Samsung Smart City, and Dorisa Temple. Special cultural content, including the exclusive opening of Dorisa’s Sejon Saritap and temple cuisine experiences, also received positive feedback.
Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "The passion and cooperation of all our citizens made this event a success," and added, "We will continue to strengthen our status as a leading city for international sports events."
This championship served as a confirmation that Gumi is a city where sports, culture, and citizens unite, reaching beyond Asia to the world.
