Gwangju City announced on June 1 that it held the "2025 Gwangju City Investment Environment Briefing" on May 30 at the Royal Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, targeting member companies of the Zainichi Korean Homeland Investment Association.

This briefing was held in conjunction with the "2025 1st Management Seminar" hosted by the Zainichi Korean Homeland Investment Association. More than 50 representatives from member companies, including Hanil Electric Group, Korea Synthetic Chemical Industry, and Abiko Electronics, attended the event.

The city organized this event to introduce Gwangju's strategic industries and excellent investment environment to these companies, aiming to attract new investments from promising firms.

The briefing included a promotional video about Gwangju City, a presentation on the investment environment, and networking sessions.

The city explained its strategic industries and investment incentives, as well as customized corporate support policies, focusing on key industrial infrastructure such as the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Convergence Complex and the National Future Vehicles Industrial Complex. In particular, Gwangju highlighted its core competitiveness, including the AI ecosystem, capabilities in the future vehicle industry, achievements in attracting the National AI Data Center, and fabless semiconductor companies.

The event was evaluated as having strengthened the foundation for investment cooperation through practical exchanges with the participants. The city plans to organize a "Gwangju Invitation Fam Tour" for companies with high investment interest among the attendees, and will continue follow-up investment attraction activities such as customized consultations and signing MOUs with individual companies.

Choi Taejo, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Industry Bureau, said, "Gwangju is rapidly emerging as a hub for AI and the future vehicle industry," adding, "We will expand investment attraction opportunities by leveraging our close network with Zainichi Korean companies that have invested in Korea."

Meanwhile, the Zainichi Korean Homeland Investment Association is an organization established in 1974 by Zainichi Korean entrepreneurs. It carries out various activities to promote domestic investment and revitalize economic exchanges between Korea and Japan. Sixty-eight member companies, including Shinhan Financial Group, Jeju Bank, and OK Financial Group, are currently affiliated with the association.
