The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on June 1 that it held a talent matching festival for SMEs and startups and Indian software developers in Noida (New Delhi) and Pune, India.

Noida is a satellite city of New Delhi and is home to Amity University, the top private university in northern India. Pune is home to Indira College, a private educational institution in central-western India known for its industry-linked practical training.
This festival was held as part of a program to connect Korean SMEs and startups, which are facing difficulties in hiring software specialists, with outstanding Indian software developers. More than 100 SMEs and startups and over 1,600 experienced Indian software developers (including online participants) took part, making the event a great success.
The overseas (India) software developer recruitment program was first introduced last year, connecting 41 SMEs and startups with 206 software developers. This year, the ministry is also aiming to facilitate the recruitment of more than 200 developers.
To support smooth matching between SMEs, startups, and Indian software developers, the Ministry has established local desks in India. These desks are responsible for securing a pool of Indian software developers, providing local software talent consultations, and managing attendance and work records for matched personnel.
The local desks in India were opened last year in Noida (north) and Bengaluru (south), and on May 29, a new desk was launched in Pune (central-west). The Ministry also plans to open an additional desk in the eastern region in the second half of this year.
Kim Bongdeok, Director General for Venture Policy, said, "I hope this matching festival will greatly help SMEs and startups address their difficulties in recruiting software talent," adding, "We will continue to expand our local networks and talent pool so that SMEs and startups have an even wider range of choices when hiring software developers."
