KT Wins K-water Digital Platform Project... Accelerating Public DX

KT announced on June 1 that it has signed a contract with Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) for the "K-water Digital Platform Construction" project and will promote a digital transformation (DX) initiative worth a total of 19 billion KRW.

This project, commissioned by Korea Water Resources Corporation, aims to advance domestic water management technology. The "KT Consortium," led by KT and including Innogrid, ST Logic, and KT DS, was selected as the final contractor. The consortium will jointly carry out the project over the next two years.

During the bidding process, the KT Consortium was awarded the project after being recognized for its technical superiority in several areas: its capabilities in cloud-based water management DX transformation, the stability and scalability of its data platform design, and its strategy for transitioning to water management-specialized Software as a Service (SaaS).

Leveraging its experience in digital transformation across government, public, and enterprise sectors, KT will convert Korea Water Resources Corporation's water management data into digital assets and enhance the system. Specifically, KT will design and build the overall digital platform, including: constructing a digital infrastructure based on artificial intelligence (AI) and private cloud; developing a data integrated management hub platform; and piloting SaaS related to water information.

Korea Water Resources Corporation plans to use this project to digitize the public water management system, while also pursuing the commercialization of SaaS-based services for future global expansion in the water industry.

Yoo Yonggyu, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of KT's Public Business Division, stated, "This project will be a decisive opportunity for Korea Water Resources Corporation to lead the global water management paradigm based on AI and cloud technologies. KT will do its utmost to ensure the successful execution of the project with its accumulated AICT capabilities and will further accelerate public digital innovation."
