Lee Junseok: "Lee Jaemyung's 'Jaembidia' is absurd to professionals... Who would want to invest?"

Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform New Party, stated on June 1, "The data centers based on renewable energy that Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, talks about would sound absurd to those working in the field."

On this day, Lee referenced an article on his Facebook page about Jensen Huang, the Taiwan-born American entrepreneur and CEO of Nvidia, who publicly urged the Taiwanese government to reconsider its nuclear phase-out policy.

Lee said, "Lee Jaemyung talks about 'Jaembidia' (a portmanteau of Lee Jaemyung and Nvidia) and cites Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's sharp remarks," and questioned, "Who would want to invest in South Korea when seeing someone promote unstable AI data centers and semiconductor production lines?"

Previously, on May 21, Jensen Huang stated in a lecture in Taiwan that the Taiwanese government should reconsider its nuclear phase-out policy. He argued that phasing out nuclear power could lead to electricity shortages, which would hinder the construction of supercomputers by domestic semiconductor companies such as TSMC.

Lee emphasized, "Taiwan must invest in nuclear power. We need all energy sources, including wind, solar, and nuclear power," and added, "For the next ten years or so, the biggest challenge for the AI industry will be energy. Just as living things cannot grow without sunlight, the AI industry cannot exist without energy."
