This is the second highest turnout since early voting was first implemented in nationwide elections in 2014.
During the 2022 presidential election, the early voting turnout reached 36.93%, which was the highest on record until then. The final early voting turnout this time is 2.19 percentage points lower than the previous presidential election.
According to provisional figures, a total of 15,423,607 out of 44,391,871 eligible voters participated in early voting, which was held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. over two days.
By region, Jeonnam recorded the highest turnout at 56.50%, followed by Jeonbuk at 53.01%, Gwangju at 52.12%, and Sejong at 41.16%.
Daegu had the lowest turnout at 25.63%, followed by Busan at 30.37%, Gyeongbuk at 31.52%, and Gyeongnam at 31.71%.
In the Seoul metropolitan area, Seoul recorded 34.28%, Gyeonggi 32.88%, and Incheon 32.79%.
