According to the final tally for early voting in the 21st presidential election, 33.38% of eligible voters in Daejeon, 41.16% in Sejong, 32.38% in South Chungcheong Province, and 33.72% in North Chungcheong Province participated.


Notably, Sejong's turnout was 6.42 percentage points higher than the national average of 34.74%. However, this figure is 3.25 percentage points lower than the 44.41% recorded during the same period in the previous 20th presidential election.


According to data from the National Election Commission, between the 29th and 30th until 6 p.m., 423,250 out of 1,241,882 eligible voters in Daejeon participated in early voting for the June 3 presidential election.


The early voting rate in Daejeon was 33.38%, which is 2.18 percentage points lower than the 35.56% recorded during the same period in the previous presidential election.


In Sejong, 124,901 out of 307,067 eligible voters participated during the same period, resulting in an early voting rate of 41.16%. This is the highest early voting rate in the Chungcheong region and ranks fourth nationwide, following South Jeolla Province (56.50%), North Jeolla Province (53.01%), and Gwangju (52.12%).


The early voting rate in North Chungcheong Province was 33.72%. Out of a total of 1,379,142 eligible voters in the province, 496,104 cast their ballots. This marks a decrease of 2.44 percentage points compared to the early voting rate of 36.16% during the same period in the previous 20th presidential election.


By city and county within the province, Boeun County recorded the highest early voting rate at 43.59%, followed by Goesan County (42.43%), Yeongdong County (42.21%), Okcheon County (41.38%), and Danyang County (40.13%). The lowest rate was in Cheongwon-gu, Cheongju, at 28.11%.


In South Chungcheong Province, 595,661 out of 1,839,339 eligible voters participated, resulting in a cumulative early voting rate of 32.38%.


This is 2.36 percentage points lower than the national cumulative early voting rate of 34.74%, and 2.3 percentage points lower compared to the cumulative rate of 34.68% in the same region during the 20th presidential election.


The area with the highest cumulative early voting rate was Gyeryong City at 39.09%, followed by Cheongyang County at 38.62% and Seocheon County at 37.92%.


The lowest rate was recorded in Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, at 27.92%. This was followed by Asan City at 29.08% and Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, at 29.17%.


The main voting will take place on June 3 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
