Preserving the Endangered Level 1 Red Bat... Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation and Palgongsan National Park Sign Business Agreement

The Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation (President Kim Namil) and the Western Office of Palgongsan National Park under the Korea National Park Service (Head Lee Jungwoo) announced on May 22 that they had signed a business agreement at the corporation's office to conserve resources in Palgongsan National Park and to promote the activation of the Geumhwa Natural Recreation Forest in Palgongsan National Park.


Through this agreement, the two organizations have agreed to cooperate in various fields, including the conservation of the habitat environment for the endangered Level 1 wild species, the red bat, which inhabits tunnels within the recreation forest; environmental cleanup activities and support for guidance and enforcement against illegal activities in the Geumhwa Valley; and the development of national park exploration programs.

In particular, the two organizations plan to strengthen their cooperation system to create a pleasant exploration environment by monitoring the habitat of the endangered red bat, supplementing and installing protective facilities, and installing a comprehensive information board at the entrance of the Geumhwa Natural Recreation Forest in Palgongsan National Park.


Kim Namil, president of the corporation, stated, "Through this agreement, we expect to systematically preserve the habitat of the endangered Level 1 wild species, the red bat, in cooperation with Palgongsan National Park, thereby promoting ecological tourism in the Geumhwa Natural Recreation Forest of Palgongsan."
