Jeonnam Regional Post Office Launches "Special Exhibition" to Support Muan Onion Farmers

Limited Sale of 3kg Onions for 3,900 Won on Post Office Shopping
from June 2 to 4

The Jeonnam Regional Post Office announced on May 30 that it will launch a special event on Post Office Shopping, titled "Special Exhibition to Support Muan Onion Farmers," to assist Muan onion farmers who are struggling due to falling prices.

This special event was organized in collaboration with Muan County as a measure to address the decline in onion prices caused by increased production, which resulted from favorable weather conditions during the growing season.

According to observation data from the Korea Rural Economic Institute, the production of mid-to-late maturing onions is expected to increase by about 34,000 tons compared to last year. With optimal growing conditions ahead of the June harvest, production is projected to rise by 7.5% year-on-year.

The Jeonnam Regional Post Office will sell early maturing onions from Muan County through the Post Office online shopping mall from June 2 to June 4. To encourage consumption, Muan County will provide discount coupons, and 3kg packages (mixed medium and large sizes) of onions will be sold at a special discounted price of 3,900 won, limited to 13,000 orders.

Director Lee Dongjeong stated, "We will continue to strengthen our public service role by utilizing the post office network to actively respond to the difficulties faced by local farmers and fishermen."
