Chungnam Province has arranged an opportunity to hear the opinions of experts and residents regarding the policies and major projects currently being promoted to realize "Strong Chungnam, Strong Welfare."

On the 30th, the province held the "8th Policy Advisory Committee Health and Welfare Subcommittee Meeting" at the Provincial Council meeting room, attended by Seong Manje, Director of Health and Welfare, and about 30 policy advisory committee members.

The meeting proceeded with a report on the main business plans of the Health and Welfare Bureau and the Institute of Health and Environment (health sector), followed by policy proposals and feedback from experts in various fields, and a discussion on the direction for developing health and welfare services in response to increasing welfare demands.

At the meeting, policy advisory committee members advised that the province needs to strengthen its strategies to effectively respond to demographic changes such as population aging and low birth rates.

They also requested efforts to expand region-specific care services, enhance the infectious disease response system, and strengthen policies for mental health and suicide prevention.

In addition, the committee provided advice on strengthening the identification of households in crisis, expanding recognition for national merit recipients, improving the treatment of social welfare facility workers, expanding welfare infrastructure for the elderly and people with disabilities, supporting elderly job participation, constructing a comprehensive medical facility in Naepo New Town, establishing a suicide prevention safety net, and ensuring food safety management for residents.

Seong Manje, Director of the Provincial Health and Welfare Bureau, stated, "Based on the valuable insights of the advisory committee members, we will take the lead in ensuring that health and welfare services are delivered evenly to all residents."
