"14 Branch Managers Join In"... Global Sharing Movement and Shinhan Bank Hold Plogging Campaign in Jongno

The international development NGO Global Sharing Movement (Chairperson Kim Hyekyung) announced on the 29th that it had conducted the "Eco Walk" plogging campaign in collaboration with Shinhan Bank. Plogging is a newly coined term that combines the Swedish word "plocka upp," meaning "to pick up," with jogging.

This campaign, held in the Insadong and Ikseondong areas near Anguk Station, saw the participation of branch managers from a total of 14 Shinhan Bank branches, including the Hyundai Gyedong branch, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental protection. Participants contributed directly to improving the urban environment by collecting litter while walking through the city, and took the lead in providing a cleaner environment for citizens.

According to the organizers, actress Lee Gaeun, who serves as an ambassador for Global Sharing Movement, participated for the second consecutive year, helping to raise social awareness of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values and the importance of environmental protection.

Shin Seunghyun, branch manager of Shinhan Bank's Hyundai Gyedong branch, stated, "Through this plogging campaign with 14 branch managers, we were able to demonstrate Shinhan Bank's firm commitment to environmental protection," adding, "We will continue to expand various social contribution activities involving our employees, thereby building a sustainable and mutually beneficial relationship with the local community."

Kim Hyekyung, Chairperson of Global Sharing Movement, said, "Although it may seem like a small action, Eco Walk is meaningful in that it helps our members develop ecological sensitivity and work together with the local community to create a sustainable future," adding, "We will fulfill our social responsibilities by carrying out various ESG activities in cooperation with partner companies, including Shinhan Bank."
