The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director: Lee Namil) is selecting and promoting a "Memorial Facility of the Month" to spread a culture of honoring veterans in daily life and to raise public interest in memorial facilities.
For June 2025, the "Memorial Facility of the Month" is the Korean War Veterans Memorial, located in Ssamsi Park, Namcheon-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan.
This memorial was established in July 2018 to honor the noble sacrifice of 1,247 veterans from Suyeong-gu, Busan, who participated in the Korean War. Their names are inscribed on the monument. It was created as a meaningful space to instill a spirit of patriotism in postwar generations and to remind visitors of the significance of loving one's country.
An official from the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs stated, "We are continuing the project to build memorials in order to enhance the pride of local veterans and to foster an atmosphere of respect and honor for those who served the nation." The official added, "We will carry out various promotional activities for memorial facilities so that citizens can experience and inherit the spirit of honoring veterans in their everyday lives."
