Over the weekend, Gwangju and Jeonnam will generally see clear skies, with daytime highs rising to around 27 degrees Celsius, continuing the early summer heat.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, Saturday, May 31, will be influenced by a high-pressure system passing south of Jeju Island, before the region comes under its periphery in the afternoon. Morning temperatures will range from 12 to 15 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will reach between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius.
On the following day, June 1, the area will be affected by a high-pressure system moving eastward over the West Sea, before shifting to its periphery in the afternoon. Morning temperatures are forecast to range from 13 to 17 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius.
An official from the Meteorological Administration stated, "Over the weekend, dense sea fog is expected, particularly over the West Sea and South Sea, so vessels navigating or operating in these waters should exercise caution to prevent maritime safety accidents."
