Approximately 189-Space Eco-Friendly Green Parking Lot Established
Paid Parking to Begin in August... 50% Fare Discount for Public Transit Transfer Users
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on May 30 that it has completed the construction of a temporary public parking lot at GTX-A KINTEX Station to improve parking convenience for rail users at the station.
The city has partially opened a site at 2605-2 Daehwa-dong, Ilsanseo-gu (designated for future use) to operate a temporary parking lot, while simultaneously constructing a public parking lot with approximately 189 spaces.
The newly completed parking lot has been built as an eco-friendly green parking lot, featuring grass block paving and other elements that consider the urban environment.
The previously open temporary parking area will be closed soon, and the newly constructed public parking lot will be entrusted to Goyang Urban Management Corporation. After a trial period of free operation, it is scheduled to begin 24-hour paid operation starting in August.
Parking fees will be applied according to the "Goyang City Ordinance on the Installation and Management of Parking Lots," with first-class off-street rates. A 50% discount will be offered to public transportation transfer users.
Mayor Lee Donghwan of Goyang Special City stated, "With the construction of this parking lot, the public transportation connectivity of GTX-A KINTEX Station will be further strengthened, and the convenience for rail users will be greatly improved. We will continue to promote the creation of eco-friendly parking lots to expand green spaces within the city."
