Free Use for Up to Three Days
The city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 30 that it will launch the "Multi-Child Family Rental Car Support Program" starting next month to support leisure activities and transportation convenience for families with multiple children.
The program is open to families with four or more children, and at least one of the four children must be 18 years old or younger. In addition, either the father or mother and at least two children must be registered at the same address in Ansan on the resident registration certificate.
Citizens who wish to apply can do so on a first-come, first-served basis through the Ansan City Integrated Reservation System website, from one month to at least two weeks prior to the desired rental date. After applying, if the city determines that the applicant is eligible, the family can rent a car free of charge for up to three days.
The available vehicles are three types: 6-seaters (Sorento, Santa Fe), 9-seaters (Carnival), and 11-seaters (Staria). Additional costs such as fuel, personal insurance deductibles, and fines are the responsibility of the user. For more information, inquiries can be made to the local administrative welfare center or the city's Integrated Care Division.
Ansan Mayor Lee Minguen stated, "We will continue to develop and implement various support measures to make Ansan a city where raising children is not a burden."
