Nuvilab's AI Meal Analysis Solution to Be Exclusively Supplied to US Hospitals in Multi-Million Dollar Deal

On May 30, Korean artificial intelligence (AI) startup Nuvilab announced that it is on the verge of signing a contract to supply its AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things)-based meal analysis solution, Nutrivision AI, to dozens of hospitals in the United States. The initial deployment and exclusive contract terms worth several million dollars have already been finalized, and the related administrative procedures are expected to be completed sequentially. This marks the first time that a Korean startup, as well as a healthcare and foodtech company, will exclusively apply AI technology to the North American hospital system.

Nutrivision AI is an AIoT-based meal analysis solution that minimizes human error in the quality control (QC) stage of patient meal service through food scanning, thereby simultaneously enhancing patient safety and hospital operational efficiency.

In particular, it is attracting attention as an integrated vertical AI solution that goes beyond multi-modal technology, organically combining field-oriented operational know-how with human-AI interaction design. In addition, the solution incorporates an AI model that continuously learns from real-world data (RWD), giving it the flexibility and scalability to quickly adapt to a variety of environments.

A representative from a local hospital stated, "AI-based meal analysis and automated record-keeping have significantly improved both the safety and operational efficiency of patient meals," adding, "We are also working on integrating patient nutrition management with the electronic medical record (EMR) system."

A Nuvilab representative commented, "This achievement is highly symbolic, as it demonstrates that Korean AI foodtech technology can be applied to the US healthcare system," and added, "Starting with approximately 6,000 hospitals in the United States, we plan to accelerate our expansion into the global AI healthcare market, including Canada and Singapore."

Meanwhile, Nuvilab ranked first in Korea and eleventh globally in the '2024 FoodTech 500', a global foodtech company ranking. At 'CES 2025', the company also received its third innovation award for its food scan technology and dietary habit AI solution.
