Taiwan TV Airs Gyeonggi Tourist Attractions on the 28th... Achieves No. 1 Viewership Rating

A special episode featuring tourist attractions in Gyeonggi Province, aired by Taiwan TV on the 28th, ranked first in viewership ratings during its time slot.


The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on the 30th that the Gyeonggi Province tourism special, broadcast on the representative Taiwanese gourmet and travel variety program "Shiksang Wanga" on TVBS, achieved the highest viewership ratings and gained significant popularity.


The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization explained that this broadcast was particularly meaningful because it was conducted using a non-budget PPL (product placement) method, with only actual expenses supported.


"Shiksang Wanga" has been airing every Wednesday at 10 p.m. (local time) during prime time for nearly 20 years since 2005, and is considered Taiwan's leading gourmet and travel program.

This "Gyeonggi Province Special" was filmed from April 21 to 24, featuring 11 locations in the areas of Gimpo, Paju, and Suwon. Popular celebrities Zheng Ziyu, Nattou, and Chen Yiyi participated in introducing these sites.


The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization plans to develop Taiwan-customized tourism products centered on the filming locations, and to continue follow-up promotions through social networking services (SNS) and the distribution of local press releases.


A representative from the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "Successfully attracting the two most influential variety programs in Taiwan in succession clearly demonstrates the reliability of the Gyeonggi tourism brand and the competitiveness of its content. In particular, 'Shiksang Wanga' is a program closely connected to actual travel demand among Taiwanese consumers. This special episode will serve as an opportunity to intuitively showcase the diverse charms of Gyeonggi Province, ranging from peace and ecological tourism to traditional markets, Makgeolli tastings, and Hanok stays."
