Kim Moonsoo Appeals to the Public: "Lee Jaemyung Must Be Stopped to Save the Economy"
Warns That Under Lee, "Young People Will Lose Jobs and Housing Prices Will Soar"
On May 30, the final day of early voting for the 21st presidential election, Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, appealed for support, warning that if Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, is elected, "the economy will plunge into a dark abyss."
On the morning of May 30 at the People Power Party Central Office in Yeouido, Seoul, Kim delivered a public appeal, stating, "Lee Jaemyung must be stopped in order to save the economy. Someone who deceives the people with lies and puts words before action can never revive the economy."

Targeting Lee, Kim criticized, "It is shameful and a part of history I wish could be erased that someone like this has even become a presidential candidate. If such a crude and ruthless person becomes president, just imagining what he could do by using power as both a shield and a weapon is terrifying."
He continued, "Over the past three years, we have witnessed Lee's cruelty as he plunged the National Assembly and the people into pain and confusion to evade his own crimes. We have seen with our own eyes numerous crimes, manipulation of trials, the ruthless nomination of candidates leading to tragic political deaths for those not on his side, the privatization of the legislature, intimidation of the judiciary, and blatant illegal and unlawful acts."
Kim particularly argued that if Lee is elected, "Under the so-called 'commissioned economy' of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (Minnochong), honest young people will lose job opportunities, and housing prices will skyrocket uncontrollably just as they did under the Moon Jaein administration."
Addressing the Democratic Party, Kim said, "By legislating harmful laws such as the Yellow Envelope Act and the Grain Management Act, which strangle businesses and throw the market into confusion, they have instilled fear among businesspeople. If such a group comes to power, it is obvious they will abuse their authority and mass-produce regulations targeting businesses."
Kim emphasized, "Only someone who has actually revived the economy can do so again," referencing his achievements as governor of Gyeonggi Province. He also pledged to allocate a 30 trillion won supplementary budget for people's livelihoods and to expand the GTX rail network nationwide. Additionally, he promised to establish a Regulatory Innovation Agency to drastically reform regulations and to boost urban housing supply. Kim further committed to: ▲ completing AI infrastructure such as workforce, power, and data; ▲ expanding export routes for K-nuclear power, defense, and shipbuilding industries; and ▲ establishing specialized banks for ordinary citizens and small business owners.
He acknowledged, "The People Power Party has had many shortcomings," adding, "I deeply reflect on and sincerely apologize for disappointing the people. We deserve criticism. We will reflect. We will fix and fix again." He appealed, "Please give Kim Moonsoo, who will devote himself solely to the people without self-interest, the opportunity to work so that the Republic of Korea can move forward."
Meanwhile, starting from this day until the end of the official campaign period, Kim plans to launch a final all-out effort with a "nonstop overnight campaign tour," traveling across the country for 90 hours.
