Sixth Upcycling Goods Series... First Time with the A380 Model
New Taegeuk Mark Engraved on Name Tags and Ball Markers, with Strap Included
On May 30 at 3:00 p.m., Korean Air announced that it will unveil name tags and ball markers made from the fuselage of the A380-800 on its official brand goods website, e-Skyshop.
This marks the sixth series of upcycling goods created from retired aircraft fuselages, and it is the first time products have been made using the A380 model. The aircraft used for these goods is the HL7612, which began its first flight in July 2011 and accumulated a total of 41,898 flight hours.
The name tags come in two designs: the "Flight" type, which highlights the unique feature of the A380 as a double-decker aircraft, and the "Window" type, which emphasizes a minimalist design. The name tags are engraved with the A380’s nickname, "Hotel in the Sky." In addition to the name tags, a long strap accessory that can be attached to a bag as a set is also available for purchase.
The ball markers are offered as a set consisting of two designs: the "Taegeuk Mark" type and the "Runway" type. Magnets are attached to the back of the ball markers to enhance usability.
This A380 goods collection is the first upcycling product to feature Korean Air’s new Taegeuk Mark, which was unveiled in March. Due to the characteristics of the aircraft, the reusable fuselage surface is smaller compared to other models, resulting in a limited production quantity. A total of 2,500 name tags and 500 sets of ball markers will be sold.
Meanwhile, instead of disposing of aircraft and various parts entirely, Korean Air is practicing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management by transforming them into commemorative goods. In April, the airline introduced keyring goods made from the Boeing 777-200ER (HL7574) aircraft.
