Digital identity verification specialist Experix announced on the 30th that it will jointly participate in the Series C Bridge round of AI semiconductor fabless venture FuriosaAI, together with its major affiliates Xplus and Intellectual Discovery.
FuriosaAI has been raising funds to support the mass production of its second-generation AI semiconductor, Renegade, and to expand into global markets. The round is expected to close soon. Experix and Xplus have joined this round as new investors, while Intellectual Discovery is making its second Series C Bridge round investment, following its participation in September last year. Intellectual Discovery has continuously invested in FuriosaAI, participating in a total of four rounds from Series A to Series C, thereby solidifying a strategic partnership.
This joint investment is seen as a strategic move that goes beyond a simple financial investment, aiming to combine each company's expertise to build a robust AI ecosystem.
Experix recently established an AI business division and is accelerating the expansion of its AI solution-based businesses in various fields, including digital identity verification, security, and healthcare. Xplus is also preparing to expand into AI-based user interfaces (UI) and smart accessory sectors, and plans to further strengthen its connection with AI technologies.
Intellectual Discovery, a shareholder and IP advisor to FuriosaAI, has continued to provide domestic and international patent consulting and licensing cooperation, and is well known as one of FuriosaAI's early major investors. Through this follow-up investment, the two companies plan to further solidify their partnership and jointly pursue the expansion of AI-based IP businesses and the advancement of their revenue models.
Yoon Sangcheol, CEO of Experix, stated, "This joint investment is not just about equity participation, but is part of building an AI ecosystem that encompasses technology, intellectual property, and productization. Through mutually organic cooperation among the companies, we will contribute to the independence of domestic AI technology and the strengthening of global competitiveness."
