Yoo Youngha Posts on Social Media After Early Voting with Park Geunhye
"Hong, Stop Interfering in a Party That No Longer Concerns You"
"No Lingering Attachment to the Place You Left... Stop Spreading the Stench"
Yoo Youngha, a People Power Party lawmaker known as a close aide to former President Park Geunhye, voiced criticism toward former Daegu Mayor Hong Junpyo, who recently left the party. On the 29th, Yoo wrote on his social media, "I accompanied former President Park to cast an early vote," adding, "On the way back in the car, I read an article in which former Mayor Hong made disparaging remarks about our party."
Yoo stated, "Usually, people remain quiet after retirement, so I don't understand why he keeps making negative comments about our party?perhaps he still has some lingering attachment." He continued, "As former Mayor Hong hopes, the party will not collapse, so he should stop worrying needlessly. He should refrain from meddling in a party that no longer concerns him and simply enjoy a graceful rest in Hawaii."
On this first day of early voting for the June 3 presidential election, Hong Junpyo posted on his social media, targeting the People Power Party: "Don't blame me. Don't blame Lee Junseok either. It's your fault for making the wrong choices." He added, "You drove one person out with absurd conspiracies, and you pushed another out through two fraudulent primaries driven by jealousy and envy." He further criticized, "How can a public party act in such a way? This is all your own doing. Even though the party was impeached twice, there was still a chance to recover, but you ruined even that with your selfishness."
He went on to say, "The party barely survived the impeachment of Park Geunhye, but this time, I don't think it will survive." Previously, he had also expressed support for Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform Party, stating, "A vote for Lee Junseok is not a wasted vote, but an investment in the future."
In response, Yoo said, "Let me be clear: we will not lose this presidential election, and even if we do, the party will recover and rise again." He added, "I sincerely hope you will stop concerning yourself with our party. Is there any lingering attachment to the place you left, or have you suddenly developed affection for it?" Yoo continued, "Remember that curses and malicious remarks always come back to you, so stop here. You've already shown enough disgraceful behavior, so please stop spreading the stench. With so little time left before the election, this is truly frustrating."
