Dongjak-gu in Seoul will host the '2025 Dongjak Youth Festa' at the Noryangjin Football Stadium on Saturday, June 7, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This year's event, organized by the Daebang and Sadang Youth Centers, will merge the previous 'Future Science Festival' and 'Youth Day Festival' into a single celebration that encompasses both science experiences and recreational activities.
Under the slogan "Science with the mind, festival with the body!", the event will be held as a youth-led, self-directed themed experience festival. The main stage will feature a variety of attractions, including the 'Wonder Magic' science magic concert, performances by youth center clubs, and a robot 'Titan' performance.
During the opening ceremony, Park Ilha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, will present awards to 28 exemplary youths and leaders. Afterward, there will be a dance performance by Team WIT (700,000-subscriber YouTuber Goddongmin), as well as the Y-Dongjak Game King competition, which will include games such as pinball, ttakji-chigi, and rock-paper-scissors.
Throughout the venue, participants can enjoy future career experiences, smart mobility demonstrations, humanoid robots, science experiments, astronomical observation, and hot air balloons as part of the future science activities. At the same time, hands-on play programs such as obstacle and sports air bounces, an ice maze, and youth-created games will take place. Additional facilities for families, such as photo zones, a camping zone, a water play zone, and a food market, will also be available.
Dongjak-gu expects more than 15,000 youths, parents, and local residents to participate, and will focus on safety management by establishing an operations headquarters and a joint situation room.
Park Ilha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, stated, "This festival, which is created and enjoyed directly by the youth, will be a special opportunity to develop both physical strength and creativity," adding, "I hope that through the diverse programs, youths and their families will create precious memories together."
