This event, themed "The 1st Anniversary of the Local Food Direct Store Created by Farmers and Yangsan Citizens Together," aims to promote mutual growth between local farmers and citizens. Major agricultural products, including livestock products, free-range eggs, and blueberries, will be offered at a 10% discount.
The Yangsan Local Food Direct Store, which opened on May 31, 2024, achieved a cumulative sales total of 1.7 billion KRW as of May 2025, with approximately 1.5 billion KRW being returned directly to local farmers.
Currently, more than 300 farms are participating, and inquiries from new farms wishing to supply products are actively continuing, raising expectations for the sustained growth and revitalization of local food. The number of consumer members has surpassed 4,000, and sales have increased compared to last year, reflecting the steady rise in citizens' trust and interest.
The Yangsan Local Food Direct Store pays the entire amount to farmers, except for a 10% shipping fee, and operates a direct sales structure without intermediaries. This provides consumers with fresh and affordable agricultural products and offers farmers a stable income base, establishing itself as a model case of urban-rural coexistence.
The city plans to introduce a planned production system to further diversify the range of products supplied, and will continue efforts to expand sales channels and increase income for small and medium-sized farms, as well as to boost the vitality of local agriculture.
Mayor Nadongyeon stated, "I would like to thank all the citizens who have supported and cherished local food over the past year," and added, "We will continue to strive to ensure that the direct store develops into a hub of coexistence that connects the city and rural areas, beyond just a sales space."
