Mulgeum Narae Metro City, newly designated as an Alley-type Shopping District, is an area densely populated with small businesses. As a multi-use commercial district featuring a variety of shops and convenience facilities, the designation is expected to attract even more customers.

Previously, there were no designated Alley-type Shopping Districts in Yangsan City because no areas met the criteria. However, this year, the city partially revised and promulgated related ordinances, including easing the requirements for the number of clustered stores within a district. As a result, Narae Metro City Shopping Center met the qualifications and was officially designated.

An Alley-type Shopping District in Yangsan City can be designated if a single merchants' association is formed in an area where small business stores are clustered within 2,000 square meters, with at least 25 stores in commercial zones or at least 20 stores outside commercial zones. Once designated, the district is eligible to apply for national and provincial grant projects such as environmental improvement and joint marketing support. In addition, merchants can register as affiliated stores for the Onnuri Gift Certificate program and receive related benefits.

Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "The designation of Yangsan City's first Alley-type Shopping District marks a significant turning point in enhancing the competitiveness of local small businesses," and expressed his commitment to "further expanding the designation of Alley-type Shopping Districts within the city to strengthen the self-sufficiency of the local commercial sector."

Kim Jungpil, president of the Narae Metro City Merchants' Association, shared his thoughts, saying, "As the first designated Alley-type Shopping District, the merchants' association will take the lead in promoting various initiatives and strive to revitalize the commercial district."
