Kwon Sungdong Claims "Only Lee Junseok Labeled with Hate"
"Turtle Island, Another Baekhyeondong Incident... Push for Parliamentary Investigation"
Kwon Sungdong, Floor Leader of the People Power Party, commented on the controversy surrounding the son of Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, on the 29th, stating, "The Democratic Party has only labeled Lee Junseok, the Reform New Party candidate, with hate speech," and added, "While shouting feminist slogans, they turn a blind eye to their own ugly sex scandals."

Meeting with reporters at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, that afternoon, Floor Leader Kwon said, "During the TV debate on the 27th, candidate Lee Junseok quoted obscene remarks made by Lee Jaemyung's son and asked whether this constituted hate speech. However, immediately after the debate, the Democratic Party instead defined Lee Junseok's remarks as verbal violence and is now demanding his resignation as a candidate."
Floor Leader Kwon pointed out, "If candidate Lee Junseok, who quoted the problematic remarks, committed violence against women, then isn't Lee Jaemyung's son himself the party responsible for hate and violence? Isn't it Lee Jaemyung, who constantly causes controversy, who should step down?"
Floor Leader Kwon emphasized, "The Democratic Party, in the late Mayor Park Wonsoon's case, used the term 'person making the claim' and reduced women's rights to a matter of political camps. This time, they are once again practicing the same elastic feminism as before," adding, "They are repeating their hypocritical behavior." He also claimed that Lee Jaemyung's son deposited more than 200 million won in gambling funds over nearly two years, arguing that this is difficult to understand from a common-sense perspective.
Floor Leader Kwon, referring to the court cases involving Lee Jaemyung and his wife Kim Hye-kyung, asserted, "This is truly a criminal family." He continued, "This is exactly why Lee Jaemyung and the Democratic Party are obsessed with controlling the judiciary. If, by any chance, Lee becomes president, he will cover up not only his own crimes but also those of his family. He will create a 'sacred family' that stands above the law."

Floor Leader Kwon stated that the controversy over the Wave Park on Turtle Island in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, involving Lee Jaemyung, is "another Baekhyeondong incident," and said he would push for a parliamentary investigation and the enactment of a special law. He said, "I visited the Turtle Island site in Siheung with members of the 'Lee Jaemyung Gyeonggi Governor Turtle Island Corruption Special Committee.' The reality we faced on-site was more devastating than we could have imagined," adding, "Every merchant we met there was expressing their suffering."
Floor Leader Kwon argued, "The vacancy rate of 90% is not just a number, but a cry of despair from the merchants and a painful indicator of the damage to the local economy," and asserted, "The cause is clear: the hasty and preferential administration of former Governor Lee Jaemyung."
Floor Leader Kwon appealed, "A vote for Kim Moonsoo is the only choice to prevent corruption, uphold the truth, and establish justice."
