University PR Content and Storytelling Theme
Over 120 PR Officers Attend, Generating Enthusiasm
Hwang Eutaek from Korea University of Technology and Education Elected as 28th Chairman
The Korea University Public Relations Council (Chairman Kim Namsu) held its spring seminar under the theme "University PR Content and Storytelling" at the Ocean Suites Hotel in Jeju from May 21 to 23, 2025.
Approximately 120 participants, including university PR officers from across the country, members of the media, and related industry professionals, attended the seminar to explore the direction of university public relations in the rapidly changing media environment.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman Kim Namsu (Director of External Cooperation at Dong-Eui University) stated, "We live in an era that demands short and impactful lines and scenes," and added, "I hope this seminar will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the importance of short-form content and storytelling, and to share our individual know-how."
On the first day, Kim Chiyong, Director of External Cooperation at Dong-Eui University, delivered a special lecture on "Storytelling for University PR Officers." This was followed by Hyun Yuseok, Producer at MBC Content Production Team, who presented "Story Revolution - Storytelling Code 9 for PR Content Production," and Kim Hakchan, Director of External Cooperation at UNIST, who spoke on "University Identity (UI) Branding and Storytelling Strategy - Focusing on the UNIST Case." Yoon Changsu, CEO of Together Group, gave a lecture on "Branding Cases - Turning the Ridiculous into the Funny."
On the second day, Kim Minjeong, CEO of AITonia, introduced "Content Production Cases Using Artificial Intelligence." She presented actual video production cases in a storytelling format, illustrating the possibilities of AI-based content planning and production.
At the general meeting, Hwang Eutaek, PR Team Leader at Korea University of Technology and Education, was elected as the next chairman. Jang Hyeonjong, PR Officer at Pusan National University, and Lee Hyeonjeong, PR Team Leader at Dongguk University WISE Campus, were appointed as auditors.
Team Leader Hwang stated, "I will strive to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among universities and to enhance the pride and capabilities of PR officers."
The Korea University Public Relations Council is an association of university PR practitioners launched in July 1997, with PR officers from approximately 170 four-year universities nationwide participating as members. The council operates six regional councils: Seoul; Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Gangwon; Daejeon and Chungcheong; Daegu and Gyeongbuk; Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju; and Honam.
